Tanya Morgan / Koncept / Playdough / Bodega Brovas / Truth Universal
Tanya Morgan is quickly becoming an iconic rap group, as evidenced by the acclaim they’ve received from Billboard, Vibe, SPIN, XXL, XLR8R, LA Times & NY Magazine. “Tanya Morgan are like the sons of De La Soul — soulful, stressed, effortlessly smart flows, intricate production, the whole package,” says SPIN. According to their official website, "After their debut album, Moonlighting, was endorsed by the likes of ?uestlove in 2006 and was received enthusiastically by fans, Tanya Morgan decided to keep working together and keep the name. In the wake of Moonlighting’s critical success, the group released its follow-up, 2009’s Brooklynati which saw the group reach more fans and beguile more journalists as it was widely regarded as one of the year’s best hip hop releases." /http://www.tanyamorgan.net/

Happy Lemmy CD Release Show / An Abstract Theory
"Members of this band have worn out vinyl selections of "Who's Next", "Moving Pictures", "Dream Police", and "Zen Arcade". Happy Lemmy has been unleashing a new dose of old school three piece guitar rock on unsuspecting clubs and festivals since 2006. Former Barking Tribe bassist Mike Callahan, collaborating with former A met Z guitarist/vocalist/songwriter Joel Smith, along with drummer Eric Fulgham resulted in a blistering trio. Tube amps, old guitars, and big drums."

BHM MTN Radio presents: Joseph Arthur
We're excited to have Ohio-born, singer-songwriter, Joseph Arthur, in Birmingham! Arthur now lives in Brooklyn, and "if there's such a thing as the opposite of writer's block, Joseph Arthur has it."
"Combining poetic lyrics with a layered sonic palette, Arthur has built his reputation over the years through critically acclaimed releases and constant touring; his unique solo live performances incorporate the use of a number of distortion and loop pedals, and his shows are recorded live at the soundboard and made available to concertgoers immediately following the show on recordable media."

BHM MTN Radio presents: CLAP YOUR HANDS SAY YEAH / The Grenadines
Clap Your Hands Say Yeah is based in New York and Philadelphia. With fans like David Bowie, Dan Beirne, and Pitchfork editor, Ryan Schreiber, it's no wonder this band generated popularity so quickly.
"Hysterical balances the exuberance of the band's first album with beauty and reflection, most notably in 'In a Motel' and 'Adams Plane.' But it wouldn't be a Clap Your Hands Say Yeah record without that bounce; that 'grab your buddy and dance with unhinged joy' emotion that's all over Hysterical. It's feeling I thought we'd lost, but that the band has once again found, just in time." -NPR Music on CYHSY's latest album, Hysterical
