Gideon Freudmann is a composer, performer and cello innovator. As a soloist Gideon uses technology to sample, loop and layer tracks in real time to create music that is complex, nuanced, creative and compelling. His music has been featured on NPR, This American Life and he was a TEDtalk speaker. Gideon composes music for film, theatre and dance, and he also performs live soundtracks for classic silent films. His music has appeared in numerous episodes of the TV series, Weeds and in the Sundance award winning documentary, Buck.

Gideon moved to Portland, Oregon in the mid-2000s where he is a founding member of the Portland Cello Project and Caravan Gogh. He continues to work as a soloist and collaborate with a wide range of instrumentalists and songwriters. He has performed in Europe, Australia and Taiwan and has published a catalog of music for cello ensembles. “Unraveling”, a duet with Annalisa Tornfelt, is his 21st CD. more >>>
