The Nowhere Band evolved out of the Kaosmosis events of yesteryear created by John Averill and Darcy Avalon. John's vision was for the band to appear for the show and disappear into the ether after- thus we were Nowhere. Since those simple times we have done dozens of shows under many names (Queens of Oblivion, Mixtape Conspiracy, Neverly Brothers, Lewis and Clark Expedition Ltd., Stynx, Manaconda, etc. etc.) playing everything from Bowie to Fleetwood Mac, U2, Judas Priest, the entire Beatles White Album, the Everly Brothers, and on and on. Players rotate in and out but the heart of this remains the same. Whatever freakish seed was planted in those early days has grown beyond us as individuals and has become it's own entity, driving us on what has become an epic journey, exploring and experiencing the music of the great artists of the last century.
Someone said that we're not a cover band so much as an art installation. An art installation that thinks art is really, really fun. I think that sums it up.
