On their last visit, Huun Huur Tu brought the steppes of central Asia to the Alberta Rose, wowing the audience with traditional Tuvan throat singing. Using this amazing technique, one singer produces multiple notes simultaneously to mesmerizing effect.
Known as the top band from this region, they have traveled extensively and have collaborated with artists of many styles. They incorporate aspects of electronica and other Western genres into their organically produced sound.

This show with very special guest and collaborator, electronica artist Carmen Rizzo, is not to be missed.

Che Apalache is a four-man string band based in Buenos Aires with members from Argentina, Mexico and the United States.

Che Apalache began as a bluegrass band, but eventually incorporated Latin American styles into their repetoire. Combining instrumental prowess with tight vocal harmonies, they have created an authentic blend of genres to reflect the nature of their lives. Evoking images from Appalachia to the Andes, their debut album, “Latingrass,” is a testament to a powerful cultural and musical exchange.
