Atlanta music veteran Elgin Wells’ music career spans more than four decades. This vocalist and multi-instrumentalist has maintained his own ensemble since 1973, performing at concerts and Jazz festivals in the Southeast and countless night clubs, including a twelve-year stint at Ray’s on the River. In addition to a tour of Australia with a big band, Elgin has performed with the Atlanta Pops Orchestra and at benefit concerts for Easter Seals, United Way, American Cancer Society and the MLK Jr. Center. Winner of six Billboard songwriting contest awards, he has recorded thirteen original albums of music and performed more than 10,000 live shows. more >>>
Doc Samuels
Vocalist/bassist/guitarist Doc Samuels, a Chicago native, played in the Elgin Wells Group most of the years from 1976 to 2000, has an impressive catalog of original songs and has performed live and on recordings with Donny Hathaway, Little Milton, Tyrone Davis, Gene Chandler, Al Green and
Marva Whitney, among many others.  Former member of the hit recording group “Ripple,” Doc  is Atlanta’s premier studio and live bassist, and he currently owns 2.0 Recording Group, 2.0 Music Publishing, Inc. and The WaveStation Studio.
Bill Wilson
Originally from Ohio, keyboard prodigy Bill Wilson was destined for a career in music. Son of famed Jazz pianist Teddy Wilson (with credits including gigs with Benny Goodman trio/quartet and Billie Holiday), Bill grew up in New Jersey while playing with his renowned New York-based band “Take Five.”  Earning his degree in Jazz Composition and Arranging from Ohio State U., Bill began to build his remarkable resume, touring and performing at jazz festivals and concerts throughout the country. Atlanta’s most sought-after accompanist, Bill has also been a mainstay of the Elgin Wells Group since the 1990’s.
Deshone Williams
New York native Deshone Williams began playing with the Elgin Wells Group in 2000, and brought with him Atlanta’s most unique and varied Latin percussion flavors.  A champion Martial Artist and Boxer, Deshone teaches professional and amateur boxing at Hard Knox Gym (Kennesaw), then extends his talents into Atlanta’s nightlife.  He has performed live and on recordings with Regina Bell, Peabo Bryson, Cool and the Gang, Outkast, Lenny Kravitz and Prince, and he appeared in Tyler Perry’s film “Medea’s Family Reunion.”  Deshone’s distinctive approach to percussion and his
lively performances have made him an EWG favorite.
Emrah Kotan is a classically trained percussionist who came to the United States from his native Turkey and received a Master’s degree in Jazz Studies from Georgia State University. An accomplished composer and recording artist in his own right, Emrah is known for blending World Music with jazz and other genres. After playing some of the most renowned venues in the world, such as the Istanbul Jazz Festival, Playboy Jazz Festival and The Blue Note in New York, Emrah is one of the most sought after musicians in the Atlanta music scene, and he tours the world as the drummer/percussionist for Grammy award winning artist, India Arie. more >>>
