Robin & Linda Williams return to Asheville, for the first time in two years, appearing at Isis Music Hall on Friday January 11, 2018! Robin & Linda have been performing for more than four decades now and they perform the music they love, "a robust blend of bluegrass, folk, old-time and acoustic country that combines wryly observant lyrics with a wide-ranging melodicism." These dynamic live performers and awesome human beings were also the House band on Prairie Home Companion for many years.

Regulars on A Prairie Home Companion for more than four decades, Robin & Linda Williams have delighted audiences with a musical style that builds on the bedrock of Country and Appalachian music. Their 22 recordings have earned them legions of devoted fans and the respect of other artists like Emmylou Harris and Mary Chapin Carpenter. Garrison Keillor, of A Prairie Home Companion, says of Robin and Linda, “they really represent the heart, the core and the soul of our radio show.”
As live performers, they are second to none. Their stirring concerts have earned them a huge body of fans over the years, but it is as gifted songwriters that Robin and Linda have earned an even rarer honor: the devotion and deep respect of their musical peers. The list of artists who have covered their original songs include some of the greats of country music, including Tom T. Hall, George Hamilton IV, Tim & Mollie O’Brien, Kathy Mattea and The Seldom Scene.
Robin and Linda Williams epitomized the term “Americana” long before it became a genre label for record companies, media, festivals and venues. Developed at the beginning of the “singer songwriter” craze in the 1970’s, Robin and Linda’s unique style of music is steeped in the traditional music of the Appalachian mountains, the Mississippi Delta, British Isles, Louisiana and Quebec.
They engage audiences with their powerful singing, their gift for capturing moments of universal life in their songs, and a rare personal appeal. more >>>
