Stand-up comedy is truly an art-form, a combination of raw talent and stage techniques. Talent can be sometimes be lost without technique, to start we teach basic joke structure and the fundamental language of comedy. We also believe that what makes a great comedian is being personal, genuine, and also to be an out of the box thinker. We provide a friendly, inclusive and fun environment where you can be just that: authentic, inspired and successful. Whether you are already a working comedian or looking to make it as a professional, or simply need help with that next presentation or just want to come and have fun, we can help you find your path to being funny.
This is a intensive class series starting December 10th- 4 classes on December 10th, 11th, off site writing class on the 13th, 17th and 18, and your 6th will be your graduation class December 20th at 8pm, performing at Laughs for your friends, family and our audience. Stand-up Comedy Class with Wilfred Padua and David Dennison | 6:30 PM
Wilfred Padua is a comedian from Seattle who has an MFA in Writing from some school in Chicago. He has performed at Bumbershoot, Bridgetown Comedy Festival, the Laughing Devil Comedy Festival in NYC, Burbank Comedy Festival, and Summer Meltdown Music Festival. He is also the comedy booker for Northwest Folklife, and consults with bookings for other festivals in the area.
During the day, Wilfred works as an educator in the Seattle area. He has taught all ages from K-12, and has led many comedy classes for youth and adults, having taught both writing and improv. He coached the Seattle University improv team for two years, and taught a comedy writing class at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

Dave is both a stand-up comic himself and an experienced restaurant manager. He puts that winning combination to use every day. After attending UCLA and California Polytechnic, Dave earned his degree in Restaurant and Travel Management. He then managed a series of restaurants and comedy clubs in California and Utah. Dave is performed stand-up comedy in every state west of the Mississippi. In 1997, He was invited to compete in Seattle’s International Comedy Competition. Dave moved to Seattle in 1998 and created a company, Comedy Alcohol Certification, that certified servers and bartenders for the Washington State liquor control board. As a MAST Trainer Dave was responsible for teaching and permitting over 5000 students in the state. At the same time Dave was the manager of Laughs at the Bellevue Double Tree. In 2007, Dave partnered with his wife Angela to opening their own comedy venue is Kirkland, Laughs Comedy Spot. In 2016 the business closed and Laughs Comedy Club was opened in Seattle on Roosevelt Way. Dave is in charge of booking the acts, and uses his extensive contacts with nationally known comedians, agents and managers to bring the great headliners to the stage. He regularly attends the Just for Laughs comedy festival in Montreal, Quebec to scout out rising stars and boost their careers by inviting them to perform at Laughs.
