Instructors: Derek Sheen and David Dennison

Derek Sheen resides in Seattle and is a national touring comedian. He insider on the national and local comedy scene with a wealth of comedy knowledge. He is known as a gifted storyteller, actor and writer. Derek will introduce you to stand-up comedian and help you prepare for your time on stage. Currently, Derek’s touring with Patton Oswalt, Brian Posehn, Janeane Garofolo and Rory Scovel!
Derek has produced 3 comedy albums: His debut album “Holy Drivel” was recorded by iconic metal producer Matt Bayles (Minus the Bear, Mastodon, Isis). his next album, “Tiny Idiot”, was produced by the Grammy nominated Dan Schlissel. Both are available on Stand Up! Records.
His third full length, "Disasterbation", released on Friday, October 13th of 2017 and his brand new, self-titled album is scheduled to drop September of 2018.

Dave Dennison, owner of Laughs Comedy Club in Seattle’s U-District.
Dave is both a stand-up comic himself and an experienced restaurant manager. He puts that winning combination to use every day. After attending UCLA and California Polytechnic, Dave earned his degree in Restaurant and Travel Management. He then managed a series of restaurants and comedy clubs in California and Utah. Dave is performed stand-up comedy in every state west of the Mississippi. In 1997, He was invited to compete in Seattle’s International Comedy Competition. Dave moved to Seattle in 1998 and created a company, Comedy Alcohol Certification, that certified servers and bartenders for the Washington State liquor control board. As a MAST Trainer Dave was responsible for teaching and permitting over 5000 students in the state. At the same time Dave was the manager of Laughs at the Bellevue Double Tree. In 2007, Dave partnered with his wife Angela to opening their own comedy venue is Kirkland, Laughs Comedy Spot. In 2016 the business closed and Laughs Comedy Club was opened in Seattle on Roosevelt Way. Dave is in charge of booking the acts, and uses his extensive contacts with nationally known comedians, agents and managers to bring the great headliners to the stage. He regularly attends the Just for Laughs comedy festival in Montreal, Quebec to scout out rising stars and boost their careers by inviting them to perform at Laughs.
