Rachel O'Neal started her musical career as a lead vocalist in a variety of bands in the early 1990's, but since 2005 she has been honing her craft as a songwriter and solo acoustic performer based here in Athens. Rachel plays an eclectic blend of jazz, blues, indi-rock, and southern-tinged Americana originals and covers. On her album, Getaway, her fluid, soulful vocals artfully convey lyrics that are semi-autobiographical yet hold a universal appeal: love, loss, hope, freedom and inner strength. She is joined on this record by John Keane, Randall Bramblett, Sunny Ortiz, Neal Starkey and Andrew Hanmer.

Outside of Rachel’s solo endeavors, she has recently been a part of John Keane’s project, Déjà vu – a Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young tribute band in which she handles the higher range vocals of Graham Nash. Rachel has also been brought in to John Keane’s studio to add backing vocals for some of the bands who are recording there. more >>>
