Rabbit Box is a forum in Athens that strives to build a stronger sense of community through storytelling. In May, which is nationally recognized as Older Americans Month, Rabbit Box will collaborate with the ACCA, a terrific local nonprofit that serves older adults of NE Georgia. The theme is Trying Times and Triumphs, Too and will spotlight the many interesting elders over 60 in our community who will tell true stories pulled from their rich lives. Our emcee for this event is Dr. Leara Rhodes and our storytellers will be Harold Rittenberry, Kathryn Andrews, Robert Fernandez, Kathleen Wright, Dr. Nadendra Shah, Liliana Carroll & Kathryn Fowler. This year’s theme for Older American’s month is Connect, Create, Contribute. That’s exactly what the storytellers will do: create and contribute compelling stories that will help others connect with a broader history of events that have shaped our town, state and nation and its residents.
Tickets are $7 in advance and $9 ($7 with college ID) at the door!
