Native to Nashville, Daniel Donato, at 22 years of age, has acquired a tenure of musicianship that spans 11 years of vast performing and recording experience. Cutting his teeth on Lower Broadway, by first busking on the streets for tips, he then very quickly landed one of the city’s most well known residencies with The Don Kelley Band. Daniel’s name quickly grew around the city and the nation’s guitar scene. He then, at the age of 18, released an internationally published and distributed book and DVD on his philosophy of guitar playing and musicianship with the nation’s best selling publisher of music instructional material, Hal Leonard. His stint with this group received exposure from Southern Living, Garden and Gun, New York Times, and Wall Street Journal. Thousands of hours and thousands of shows in the Honky Tonks of Nashville led Daniel to the influences that make up the dichotomy of his musical sound today such as Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, and Merle Haggard.

A formidable eight-piece lineup using authentic vintage equipment, Tribute recreates the sound that the Allman Brothers produced over their inspired first five years, channeling the band's dual-lead guitar fury with an instinctive appreciation for how this music was originally written, recorded and interpreted on stage. Behind vocalist Oliver Nichols, a powerhouse who began singing as a youth in the Gospel Church of Charleston (S.C.), Tribute interprets the Allman catalog in such a way that these songs written over 40 years ago come alive again.

As much a part of Athens Music History as R.E.M. and Widespread Panic, The Normaltown Flyers have been an institution of our humble music scene for countless years. 2009 marked the 30 year anniversary of the band, and even eight years later, they somehow have shown no signs of wear and tear. Like the pickup truck they mention in their classic song ‘Pickup Truck Rock n’ Roll’ they keep churning away, and when you watch them perform, you honestly believe they could keep rolling for another 30 years! Their Annual Pre-Thanksgiving show on Wednesday, November 21st has become an Athens tradition, and we sincerely hope you and your family (and friends!) make it part of your holiday celebrations this year. Tickets are only $10 advance, and doors open at 6pm for dinner and drinks.

Chi-Town Transit Authority is a rocking seven piece band created in the image of the original configuration of the rock group Chicago. Each band member authentically recreates the sound of the original members – for example, our bass player sings the Peter Cetera parts, our keyboardist sings the Robert Lamm parts, etc. We don’t carry any back-up singers or front of house singers so often used in other tribute bands because of the challenging vocals. We also play a wide variety of Chicago’s catalogue, including the big hits, the fan favorites, and the soulful and rocking deeper cuts found on their first few albums.

Amy Ray and her band’s new country album, Holler will be released on September 28th 2018. It was recorded live to tape at her mainstay Echo Mountain Studio in Asheville, NC, with the added power and swagger of horns and strings that harken back to the country music of the late 60’s. Holler features special guests: Alison Brown on banjo, Kofi Burbridge on keys, Derek Trucks on guitar; Vince Gill, Brandi Carlile, The Wood Brothers, Justin Vernon, Lucy Wainwright Roche and Phil Cook on harmonies. Amy and her band will be hitting the road throughout the Fall of 2018 and beyond.
